Our mission is to create positive, lasting change for residents that help them live healthy, independent lives in thriving communities. Here, you’ll find information about our strategic priorities and how we measure our impact.

Strategic priorities

We are working towards two strategic priorities:

  • to support residents to increase their incomes and financial resilience to help sustain tenancies and maximise income
  • to increase community activity and investment in our core neighbourhoods so they remain places people are proud to live

These priorities build on our work since the L&Q Foundation was established in 2011.

Measuring our impact

One of our values is ‘impact’ – we want to measure what we do by the difference we make.

The L&Q Foundation wants to make sure we're having the right impact. So, we're collecting evidence through our monitoring and evaluation framework.

We measure our impact, so we can see the effectiveness of our projects, whether they demonstrate value for money and hold us accountable. It also helps us understand what works well so we can use evidence to plan future projects.

We also monitor and measure our supply chain partner's impact on L&Q communities. We work hard to ensure that our contractors deliver on their social value commitments, in the most effective way for the most impact.

We're using a combination of the Housing Associations' Charitable Trust's (HACT) Wellbeing Valuation Approach and the Social Value Portal's ‘Themes, Outcomes & Measures’ (TOMs) to calculate the social return on investment. In 2023/24, we generated more than £50m in social value.
