Fighting social housing stigma: I am social campaign
I am social aims to tackle the stigma around social housing, by sharing stories and photos of residents talking about their lives and the things which matter to them.
Every person living in an L&Q social home has a story to tell. A first-generation university student. A devoted public services worker. An award-winning environmental champion and volunteer. A retired nurse and mother-of-three. These stories illustrate social housing’s role in helping to build a better and more equal society.
People living in social housing have aspirations, dreams and goals just like everyone else. They also face barriers, challenges and difficulties. Some may be single parents, working long hours to provide for their children. Others may be key workers, dedicating their lives to helping others. Whoever they are and whatever they do, social housing residents contribute significantly to our local communities and the national economy.
That is why we are launching our ‘I am social’ campaign. To tell their stories, amplify their voices, and tackle the stigma associated with living in social housing.
