Everything you need to know about your right to a home fit for human habitation.
We are responsible for making sure that your home is fit for you to live in by meeting the requirements set out in the Homes (Fitness for Habitation) Act 2018. This is different from the Decent Home Standard.
This means that throughout your tenancy we must make sure your home is safe, healthy and free from things that could cause you or anyone else in your home serious harm.
There are various ways that we make sure that your home is fit for you to live in:
- We carry out regular health and safety checks throughout different parts of your home to keep you safe.

- We are legally obliged to carry out repairs to your home to make sure it remains fit for human habitation.

- We'll tackle other risks to health and safety that you report to us as a priority, for example, when you've told us about damp or mould in your home and this is a risk to your health.
